Reports to: Commercial Head of Procurement, Central Europe, dotted-line reporting to Finance Director, Hungary


As a Head of Procurement lead and manage indirect Procurement activities for GSK Hungary to ensure best value for money, reliable supply, service and quality. Protect the company’s financial interest while providing high level of service to internal customers and maintaining consistency with corporate Procurement.

Key Responsibilities:
• Identify cost savings opportunities and initiates new procurement project
• Work with internal customers to develop and implement sourcing strategies leading to cost and process effectiveness for different non-production/commercial commodities
• Manage tender processes for contractual services; including defining requirements, producing tender documents, evaluating tender submissions, chairing/participating supplier interviews, making recommendations to the client and managing the contract mobilization period, whilst ensuring best procurement practices are maintained
• Negotiate at strategic and tactical level with suppliers
• Award, create, implement and manage contracts with preferred suppliers
• Maintain preferred supplier list
• Implement Supplier Management Programs with key suppliers, developing key metrics, performance goals, and improvement initiatives
• Conduct and support annual supplier business reviews engaging the appropriate internal stakeholders
• Proactive monitoring of local market conditions, efficient business practices, benchmarking, opportunities and new technologies to proactively adjust sourcing strategies
• Support the implementation of global /regional procurement strategies in Hungary
• Promote adherence to procurement processes , policies and systems
• Reporting of savings and agreed KPIs
• primary deliverables of role; it’s scope; impact on strategy, policy, business or people relationships

– Supports the development of new policies, contributes to the development and maintenance of processes and procedures within procurement

The incumbent is given authority to expend funds assigned to him/her

Annual budget is set each year in annual plans.

• Works independently within scope of position. Initiates new assignments and completes tasks with minimal supervisory input
• Needs to work with and coordinate the procurement activities of several departments mostly in sales & marketing
Specialised Knowledge:
• breadth & depth across disciplines or functions; expertise in field required

– University degree (preferably in economy)
– 3 years experience in non-production (indirect) procurement
– Excellent negotiator, influencer
– Analytical, innovative and strategic thinking
– Strong project management, ability to work with cross functional teams
– Ability to initiate an lead change
– Ability to manage many projects at the same time
– Good interpersonal and presentation skills
– ‘Hands on’ and ‘Can do’ attitude
– High integrity
– Advanced English language knowledge
– Computer skills
